Paris-Dauphine is accredited
1 – Is the EDBA accredited?
Yes. The Université Paris-Dauphine follows a clear policy of accreditation excellence. The University and all its programs are fully accredited by EQUIS, the most selective international level of accreditation.
2 – Must I be physically present at the courses, and if so how often?
Yes, the program requires the presence of all participants for all of the courses given once a month (Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday) for the first 18 months. Presence at the tutorials is also mandatory.
Presence at the courses is a real benefit for the participants as they are given opportunities to exchange with each other, with the professors and develop professional and personal relationships with other Executive Education students at Dauphine (who have classes at the same time).

3 – Do I have the profile of an EDBA participant at Paris-Dauphine? (age…)
If you do not find the answer to your question through these links, contact our Program Officer:
4 – What is included in the 29,000€ tuition?
The cost of the EDBA includes seminars, catering, pedagogical materials, supervision by a Mentor /Research Director, and the organization of a scientific defense at Université Paris-Dauphine, as well as access to the Université Paris-Dauphine library and digital resources for the 3 years of the program.
5 – Financial aid: How can I finance my studies and what is the procedure to do so?
For personal financial aid, you can of course speak with your employer or a financial aid organization (Fongecif…) to see what programs they may offer to finance your EDBA.
The tuition of 29,000€ is applicable to all participants including those who receive external financing.
Payment of the tuition cost is payable in installments over the three years. CORRIGER DANS SITE FRANCAIS
6 – Do I have to find a Research Director myself? How do I choose one? How will I be supervised?
At the end of the presentation of the third version of your proposed thesis, the EDBA Directors will propose a Research Director to you, the participant. A meeting is organized between the participant and the mentor in order to evaluate if the collaboration is a good fit. In the case the answer is negative, the director or the participant can make a new proposition.
The Research Director is proposed for his/her skills in supervising doctorate theses and can be internal (most cases) or external of Dauphine.

7 – What happens if I have not completed my thesis at the end of the program (in 3 years)?
We are quite aware that the effort required to write a thesis cannot always be maintained over a long period of time. This is why we allow participants who wish to apply for one or more supplementary years to do so through the payment of 1000€ per additional year, permitting these participants to continue to have access to the University resources.

8 – Can I defend my thesis before the end of the program (in less than 3 years)?
Yes. This is perfectly possible.
9 – What is the difference between an EDBA and a PhD/Doctorate?
The EDBA is an internationally recognized university diploma.
At the end of the EDBA, you will have obtained the education level equivalent of a doctorate thesis.
Our diploma delivers the title of “Executive Doctor” instead of “Doctor”, which is a title reserved for students completing a doctorate thesis.
Kindly keep in mind that in the American education system the title of “Doctor” is used for both the PhD and EDBA diplomas. Concerning employment opportunities at the end of the EDBA program, you could perfectly well become a professor at Business Schools and in International universities. However, French universities require a doctorate thesis and title to teach therein.
Doctorate thesis/ EDBA thesis
In comparison with the doctorate thesis, the EDBA thesis emphasizes, on one hand, the theoretical framework on the management problem in question and, on the other hand, the managerial and corporate implications of the research. The loopback to scientific literature (that consists in highlighting theoretical contributions of the research) is generally more succinct than for a PhD thesis. However, the analysis of the literature in the beginning stages and the analysis of the data must be sufficient to produce an authentic scientific contribution. In fact, the requirements are the same as a PhD thesis in terms of the scientific positioning, the rigor in the compilation and processing of the data as well as the justifications of choices made, affirmations and conclusions.
10 – What is the Admissions interview process?
The selection interview is held by a jury composed of an EDBA director, a member of the faculty and an alumnus of the program.
